Keith A. Michael Air National Guard Technical Sergeant
Mr. Michael started out at Air Man Basic, E-1, when he first joined. However, as soon as he graduated high school, he was automatically promoted to Air Man First Class, E-3. He was able to move up through the ranks very quickly. This was very positive motivation for him. Mr. Michael’s highest rank was E-6, Technical Sergeant. The service has taught him how to learn to do things on his own. Mr. Michael says military life is some what different from being back at home. He says it was about learning his place and knowing where he fitted, and also being able to take orders and instructions from the people above him. He explains how it takes a great amount of trust in the people ranked above him.
In the Air National Guard, Mr. Michael has trained as a Aeromedical Evacuation Health Service Administrator Specialist. He gets to track and monitor Air Vac missions for Aeromedical Evacuation, and also keep track of the flyers that fly in the back of the aircraft. Another job he does is taking care of the patients and their paperwork.
He was recently promoted to a new position. That position is medical service core officer. He’ll be in charge of medical readiness and e-meds. In medical readiness, he’ll make sure that the squadron is prepared for a medical emergency or incase there is a bomb threat.
His awards include the War on Terrorism medal, the Expeditionary Global War on Terrorism, the Expeditionary Deployed medal, Air Force Achievement medal, and some others.
